About the team

Georgina is located on the south shore of Lake Simcoe and includes the towns of Keswick, Sutton and Pefferlaw. Home games are played at the Georgina Ice Palace in Keswick.

The team plays their Regular Season games in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League. The league has teams from Windsor to Kingston and from Niagara to Midland. Please go to the 'Standings' page to see the loop that we will play in. All teams should be within approx 1 hour's drive.

Saturday April 2nd vs Cambridge Roadrunners(T 1-1)

One more time down the QEW for the third game of the tournament, this time against Cambridge who had already assured themselves of top spot in the pool. This game would be played for pride. The Hawks showed no sign of the previous night's sluggishness. They were fast and and played an extremely exciting game. Rachael put the Hawks on scoresheet with an absolutely booming slapshot from inside the blueline which beat the goalie cleanly. Jade was assigned the difficult job of shutting down the Roadrunner's key player who had been racking up points in each of their previous games. She did an excellent job of it, and only once was her opponent able to escape the coverage and score. The game ended in a tie, but it was a well played game, and one that will help prepare them well for the upcoming Provincial's.

Friday April 1st vs Hamilton Hawks(L 3-1)

After killing time waiting around for the second game of the day, the Golden Hawks seemed to have lost their zip. Hamilton continually beat them to the puck giving themselves the lion's share of the chances. Chelsea gave the team some life when she moved into the high slot and snapped a wrist shot into the top of the net to put them on the board. But it would not be enough as the Hamilton Hawks managed 3 goals for the victory.

Friday April 1st vs Guelph Thunder(L 1-0)

It may have been April Fool's day but nobody was joking today. The girls came to play and they put forth a strong effort. They controlled much of the play and had many good scoring chances. But despite all that they couldn't seem to find a way to beat the Guelph goalie. Guelph found the net only once and in the end that was all that was needed to hand the Hawks their first loss.
